What is attention and how does it work? Despite the crucial role that attention plays in basic functions and in Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), it remains poorly understood. Research has shown that fluctuations in attention might be measured by examining changes in the size of the pupil (i.e., pupilometry). This study tests this possibility as it uses pupilometry to see if fluctuations in attention can predict performance on mental arithmetic problems for people with and without ADHD.
